What to Check Before Your Appointment

To make sure everything goes smoothly with your insurance, here are a few quick things to check with your provider before your visit.

What is my excess?

This is the amount you have to pay* before the insurance starts covering your treatment.

e.g If your excess is £150.00, you’ll pay the first £150.00 of your care.

*ask your employer if they can cover this for you. If they can’t, then you will be responsible for paying your excess.

Does my policy cover chiropractic care -

some plans do, some don’t — or they may only cover certain types of treatment, or a set number of sessions*.

*If they only cover a certain number of sessions, you will be expected to pay for any additional sessions.

Do I need a GP referral

some insurance providers require a GP’s referral before they’ll approve treatment - you will need to request this from your GP, not your chiropractic Doctor.

Do I need to pre-authorise my treatment?

We will ask you for your membership number, a claim authorisation number, and proof of authorisation - to obtain this you’ll need to speak to your insurance provider.

you will need to open a new claim, and check to see if one of our Specialist Doctors are recognised with your insurance provider - provide their GCC number, found here.
